We would like to thank our newest Signers - Timothy Richardson, Stanton Bell, Steven Kershaw, and Heather Thornton!

There are nearly one million people in jail in the United States for non-violent activities related to the use, possession, cultivation, transportation or sale of marijuana. The purpose of this site is to make available a place for everyone who supports the idea of Nojailforpot to sign his or her name, and make it proudly public for everyone to see. The people below have taken the significant step of putting their names to this important declaration, for all the country to see.

The state and government waste too much money jailig non-violent drug affenders. They could use that money for a lot of other things. The ccan also use the time to catch real criminals like rapests and murders

It is time we put an end to the incarceration of non-violent offenders. It is a shame to see a life put to waste because of what they may choose to put into their body. What is even worse is our money is paying the bill for the jailing of otherwise innocent americans with something still to contribute to society.

The only law that I have ever disobeyed and that I have ever been arrested for is minor possession of marijuana. I am a responsible, taxpaying citizen and a hardworking American working to support my family, my wife and three children. I do not drink alcohol or use any drugs. The only law that I break is to partake in a plant which God has created for us. Yet, I feel that I must live in fear of my government which I so strongly believe in. Please consider what is in your citizen's best interests, and what is best in the eyes of God. Please stop persecuting the average American.

i've never really understood why marijuana was illegal in the first place. i mean, look at alchohol, wanna talk about dangerous, but its still legal? and what about cigarets? deadly as can be, but they're still legal. i don't know any one who has died from marijuana, do you? so why is it illegal? is the point to allow all dangerous drugs to be legal while illegalizing all the harmless and beneficial drugs? or is it just a mistake that marijuana is illegal?
