There are nearly one million people in jail in the United States for non-violent activities related to the use, possession, cultivation, transportation or sale of marijuana. The purpose of this site is to make available a place for everyone who supports the idea of Nojailforpot to sign his or her name, and make it proudly public for everyone to see. The people below have taken the significant step of putting their names to this important declaration, for all the country to see.

Pot should be legal and that's all there is to it!

The United States is supposed to be a free country, yet those who choose to smoke this mostly harmless drug are penalized. An American can go out and drink themself to death, but they cannot freely use a drug which is less toxic and less prone to making one out of control than alcohol. I say this is not only unfair, but also un-American! Settlers from my Mother's side of the family have been here since before the United States declared independence, and I'm quite sure they would be disturbed to learn that all their efforts for freedom have reached this point. A point where we as citizens cannot relax and enjoy *our* day without concern that the DEA is going to invade *our* space and seize ownership of all *our* possesions. That is not right, and must end ASAP.

marijuana is a plant. it grows out of the ground. it has been on earth (to my knowledge) for over 10,000 years. it can be smoked to help deal with symptoms from AIDS, cancer, MS, manic depression, glaucoma, ADHD, back spasms/pain, etc. it's cousin, hemp, can be used to make rope, clothing, lip balm, shampoo, shit... you can even make gasoline for your car with hemp oil. what makes me angry is that the government made a PLANT illegal. its a fucking plant! its green. you can eat it. it tastes good! who are you, god? who the fuck gave you the right to dictate which plants can grow on this earth? the war on drugs (aka the war on marijuana) has done nothing but show me the REAL problem in this country: corrupt politicans and corporations. i have lost all faith in the system. thanks for lying to me, assholes...

Marijuana is a plant, there is no reason why prohibition on this plant is neccasary; putting people in jail for having, smoking, growing, or selling weed is just a waste of money. If you could make an industry out of weed alot of money could be made, even if the government taxed it.

We the next generation od society need to voice our opinion(in this case the truth) and that is that weed is harmless. What we need to do is leagalize it and then tax it and apply all of that new tax revenue to the budget defficiet. not only that if weed was leagalized just think of how many new jobs would open up for selling it and growing it. I do beleive however that there should be limits on the amount a person may have in his possesion and i also think that there should be a permit to grow.
