Notable People News Wire
We would like to thank our newest Signers - Timothy Richardson, Stanton Bell, Steven Kershaw, and Heather Thornton!

There are nearly one million people in jail in the United States for non-violent activities related to the use, possession, cultivation, transportation or sale of marijuana. The purpose of this site is to make available a place for everyone who supports the idea of Nojailforpot to sign his or her name, and make it proudly public for everyone to see. The people below have taken the significant step of putting their names to this important declaration, for all the country to see.

I think it's morally wrong to jail adults for pot smoking, almost absurd.

Stop arresting people for using what DEA Administrative Law Judge Francis Young declared to be "one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man."

Richard Watson

hey, no harm, no foul.

It's sad whenever your minding your own business and a terrorist (or the police if you prefer that term) pulls you over and actually put handcuffs on you, treat you like your doing something wrong, and cart you off to jail for something as simple as a bag buds from a plant.

Daniel Cunefare
Murfreesboro, TN 37129

The fact that one can go to jail or prison for possessing plant material is simply ludicrous.

Wayne Mcpherson
Bristol, TN 37620

I think legalization and taxation of pot would help reduce the national deficit, keep non-violent people out of our prisons, and reduce the influence of drug smugglers in our country. The choice of drug use should be a personal one and people addicted to opiates or other drugs should receive drug treatment..We already know prohibition does not work and making users criminals only pushes them toward antisocial behavior such as theft, breaking and entering, and armed robbery;this would be reduced i

I believe that the illegality of pot is one of the dumbest things the world can have done. It doesn't kill you, and is even healthy. If anything, we should criminalize cigarettes and alcohol, as they can kill you.
