Notable People News Wire
We would like to thank our newest Signers - Honest Abe, Chris Griffith, Karen Gibbs, and Mark Barr!

There are nearly one million people in jail in the United States for non-violent activities related to the use, possession, cultivation, transportation or sale of marijuana. The purpose of this site is to make available a place for everyone who supports the idea of Nojailforpot to sign his or her name, and make it proudly public for everyone to see. The people below have taken the significant step of putting their names to this important declaration, for all the country to see.

I just know that I became disabled at sixteen years old in a car wreck-suffering a \\\\\\\'Traumatic Brain Injury\\\\\\\' and I\\\\\\\'m now 23, I\\\\\\\'m in pain everyday, I\\\\\\\'ve repeatedly been denied medicaid(when I was told I would have it the rest of my life) and being new to Corbin, KY, I need to meet someone to hook me up as it\\\\\\\'s the only thing that helps my muscle tone, spasticity and depression.

It would free up police to arrest actual criminals instead of innocent hard working people. It would keep prisons/jails less crowded for the simple fact that they would not be housing non-criminal minded people anymore. It would wipe out a majority of drug dealers and put that money into our economy instead of their pockets. There are just so many good things that could come from this, but those few things are what stands out in my mind without question. -Genesis 1:12

My family has been greatly affected. I hold 4 poss. misdeomenor charges since 2000. It should be a non issue. I am a law abiding, tax paying citizen. People die and get high on beer and liquor. This is not acceptable. Personally I think it is government oppression, for controll and $.

Our forefathers, who built this country, grew cannabis and I would like to be able to as well

I believe marijuana should be decriminalized because millions of dollars are spent each year on simple possession charges, and more time and effort isn\'t concentrated on convicting people who sell heroin or cocaine, which actually kills people unlike marijuana. It can also be used for medicinal purposes as well. Decriminalization would also be taxed and regulated which would help relieve crime and debt problems in our country

There's far worst things in the world than a plant we call marijuana. We drink tea (which is a plant), we grow veggies from the ground up and all that is okay but yet marijuana is a gateway drug???? I think NOT. Cigarettes and Alcohol can seriously mess up your body but being that we live in this captialistic world, those things are suppose to be okay. Worry about all the homeless people, free health care for US citizens or even the guy that just robbed, rapped or killed someone.
